Winter's on its way and that can only mean one thing... it's time for the ONE Fashion Event sponsored by Northfield Savings Bank! Join us at the Higher Ground Ballroom in South Burlington on Saturday, January 24th for the third annual ONE Fashion Event. The show will feature local stores, designers, and of course, our own incredibly creative Boys & Girls Club members as they all strut their stuff down the runway. Tickets are available through Higher Ground on their website, by phone at 652-0777, or in person at 1214 Williston Road in South Burlington. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 day of the show. This was a sell out event last year, so get your tickets fast!

Our college and career readiness program KnowHow2GO began its second year in January and is moving right along. We recently received the 2008 New England Board of Higher Education’s Robert J. McKenna Award for Program Achievement, and was recognized at the NEBHE Awards Dinner at the Fairmont Copley Plaza on Friday, March 14th, 2008. Joining the Boys and Girls Club of Burlington at the dinner was Roxanne Spillett, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Club of America! As part of KnowHow2GO, the second annual College & Career Fair was held on Thursday, October 9, 2008 from 5-7 p.m. at the 62 Oak Street Clubhouse in Burlington, VT. This year’s event was a great success with over 20 colleges and businesses in attendance and nearly 100 Club and family members. For more information on KnowHow2GO, see our career readiness page or contact Dottie Olio at 864-5263.
